Our Story

Owner Mosie Hershberger grew up working in construction and always dreamed of starting a business to call his own. In 1994, Mosie’s dream came true when he established Hershberger Construction, L.L.C. and has been serving Lime Springs, IA, as a premier construction company ever since.

We’re locally-owned and operated, and backed by the credibility of Mosie’s work from the many years he’s spent serving the community. Mosie and his crew perform high quality work because we are dedicated to making your home exactly the way you want it. We understand the importance of quality when building a new home, so each new project is more than a business transaction for us.

Here at Hershberger Construction, L.L.C., we specialize in new home construction, remodeling, and shed building. We also provide grain bins, concrete floors, pole sheds, steel and shingle roofing, and more. Hershberger Construction has done roofing for several of our members in the recent past so Mosie and crew were a top choice when securing a roofer for the National Register historic home that serves as headquarters for our organization. Mosie gave a careful assessment and estimate of the project beforehand. As his crew worked on the roof, they uncovered problems the previous roofer had glossed over or just plain ignored which had caused damage to the roof. Mosie immediately informed us of the damage and the steps needed to address the problem areas, he and his crew corrected those issues, and the roof is now finished and looking great both functionally and aesthetically. Hershberger Construction was the perfect choice for reroofing our historic home as they use the latest 21st century products and techniques, but are aware of the historic way of doing things, so the roofing was done according to National Register standards. Mosie and his crew are incredibly hard-working, conscientious, and will give full value to the dollars spent on your project. Although the roofing went over estimate due to the problems uncovered, (plus a derecho, and several hurricanes that drove up the price of materials), Mosie was careful about informing us of the problems which needed to be addressed and materials price changes as they occurred, and was very fair about what he charged. If you are looking for a roofing firm with integrity, best construction practices, a conscientious work ethic, and an excellent finished project, you couldn't do better than Hershberger Construction.
